Of course, YOU JESUS are the One we long to celebrate. YOU are the One we want to fix our eyes on. It’s crazy that a time when we focus on YOUR arrival as a baby, to bring new LIFE, is also a time when we can become most weary. And this is even more true of this dear daughter, who walks with Your people in the midst of their needs, their pain, their turmoil – which can be amplified during this season of celebration.
Lord, bring a special moment of peace to Your daughter right now. Help her to breathe in deep, Your presence. Remind her of your intimate care for her. Lord, you are close.
Lord Jesus,
When she is feeling harried, under the weight of expectations around her…
Remind her that you are her only audience. That YOU have laid out her path before her for today and her obedience to the thing You’ve put in front of her is YOUR only expectation.
When she is mourning with those feeling the weight of their loss during the holiday season…
Remind her that she shares YOUR anointing – to bind up the brokenhearted and to comfort those who mourn.
When she is standing in battle with someone who is struggling against addiction…
Remind her that the battle is YOURS and that YOU are a strong tower against our enemy. You will guide her with YOUR strength and You will fight for them.
When she sees more activities added to the calendar and is asked to give more than she thinks is possible…
Remind her that her sacrifices are seen by YOU and that YOU receive them as a precious gift.
When she looks out at the falling snow (or waving palms or blowing sand) and feels alone, tempted to think that she walks this journey by herself…
Remind her that YOU are CLOSE, even when it seems YOU are silent. That the silence may be a pregnant pause as you take a breath before YOU speak.
When she joins with YOUR Church in worship, whether she senses YOUR presence or comes to the alter in faith that YOU are there, whether she feels surrounded by family or alone in the crowd…
Remind her that YOU have called her to this place, in this moment, to help shepherd YOUR people as they come… kneel…surrender…and passionately follow their newborn KING.
