If you’ve spent any time with me at all, you know I love a good question.  A question that gets right to the heart of what’s important and helps us discover a new insight about who God is or who we are.  So, I was excited to remember this little gem!

I pulled this out of my ministry tools archives this month – I had forgotten how helpful this has been to me!  Just this week, I’ve taken some time to pray through some of these questions and ask the Lord to give me His eyes to see where He wants to work in my life. It’s so easy to slip into just going through the motions, especially in the summer. But summer can be a great time of intentional reflection, with a good friend, a mentor or just you and the Lord.  Summer is also a time that we might have a little more space to focus on an area of growth that we haven’t seemed to be able to carve out the time or energy to focus on during the school year. A word of warning…a quick response is a good indicator of shallow thinking.  Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the real state of your soul as you dig into these.  And ask Him to show you examples from your life so that you can know you are depending upon more than just a feeling.

I adapted many of these questions from a great little book put out by Navs a long time ago called “Ten Questions to Diagnose Your Spiritual Health”.   It’s also been a great tool to use with gals that I’m mentoring, to help us be intentional about our times together and give direction to our conversations.  Give it a shot – I hope it drives you further up and further in.
